Picturas darkroom is located in the basement at Kåren (Hämeenkatu 22). There you can find equipment for film development and darkroom printing (black-and-white film). To get access to the darkroom, you’ll need a HID-key (can be purchased from the university) and an Abloy key that can be lent from the Materials Manager. Alternatively, you can arrange for a time when a member of the board may open the door to the basement and darkroom for you.
We arrange courses in developing black-and-white film and creating paper prints every year, stick around and you’ll get an introduction to analog photography! You are free to come and develop films by yourself if you have experience of film development from earlier (or take a friend with you that can show you how it is done). You can also lend some 35 mm film cameras from Pictura.
